For the first time in human history, we are at the cusp of experiencing contact with nonhuman life-forms of all kinds due to technological innovations and research into the experiences of people at the forefront of this development. -- Encounters (macmillan.com) /date[1]

Any intelligence conceived of as not belonging to a human. A relatively common experience in spirituality, and e.g. people who have undergone psychedelic experiences, an encounter with beings or entities that perceived to be nonhuman, non-mundane, extraterrestrial, or otherworldly in nature.[2]

Non-human intelligence in computers refers to the development of artificial systems that can process information, make decisions, and interact with their environment, similar to how a human would.[3]

More than "half of American adults and more than seventy-five percent of young Americans believe in intelligent extraterrestrial life."[4]

Work by Diana Walsh Pasulka's explores the relationship between technology and nonhuman intelligences, suggesting that AI could potentially be a high-tech Ouija board for communication with these beings.
