Sonicommunism/Sonicsocialism (SS) is an idealogy formed from the fusion of many 23rd century reactionaries including Mored Sferlk, Samule Kiu, and Any Poll, combined with the concept of a ethnostate. However, unlike most other idealogies based on the concept of an ethnostate (National Socialism, Chinese Ethnic Communism, Homonationalism, etc.) transhumanism is at the root of Sonicommunism. Hence, if you are not a Sonic, the Sonicommune government can force you to become one.

The thing is that there is debate within the Sonicommunist community over this very thing. The most popular explanation is pretty simple: time travel. Time travel technology, if indeed ever exists or has existed, has the potential to exist during any time period before or after. Any time traveler, no matter how far in the future, provided they have the motivation to travel to the past, could do so. From then on, they could take cultural artifacts from that period, influence history, or give temporally-indigenous organisms access to their time travel technology.
However, some Sonicommunists reject this idea. One popular counterargument is that if time travel technology existed, any humanlike organisms with access to it would eventually create some kind of time paradox that would break everything, and, in academic terms, fuck everything up. (If the time travel equipment were designed very specially, and were handled by sufficiently responsible entities, many Sonicommunists argue, this problem could be circumvented.)
Most other popular explanations involve some kind of time nonlinearity, higher dimension time, or bidirectional time flow. The most respected of these explanations is best explained using a numogram. Google it, that's a good enough place to start.
